Due to the complexity of this social phenomenon, Gender and Career in Japan probes the nature and ramifications of changing gender norms in Japan from a multidisciplinary perspective incorporating sociology, social psychology, and economics. Leonie Stickland

Leonie Stickland is a PhD, has a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies (Hons), holds a GradDipEd (Secondary Teaching), and a Diploma of Interpreting. She is a lecturer in Japanese at Murdoch University. Her research areas include gender, sexuality, and ageing in the East Asian context.

SUZUKI Atsuko

SUZUKI Atsuko is Professor in the Faculty of Literature, Keio University. Her fields of specialization are education and social psychology. She began teaching in the Faculty of Literature, Tohoku University, in 1997 and has been Professor at the same university since 1999. Her research interests include career formation consciousness, life courses, gender-role attitudes and work consciousness.
