IHARA Ryoji is Associate Professor in the Department of Cultural Studies at Gifu University with specializations in labor sociology, business management theory and modern social theory.
He graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Hitotsubashi University, and completed his PhD in Sociology at the Graduate School of Sociology of the same university. He is known for his research on the Toyota corporation and he has published several papers and books on Toyota’s production system.
