KAKIZAKI Ichiro is a Japanese scholar and Professor at Yokohama City University whose research focuses on railways in Southeast Asia. In 1999, he was awarded a PhD by the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies for his thesis “Railways in Thailand and the Formation of the Central Economic Zone of Bangkok 1897–1941”. His primary field of interest is transportation in Southeast Asia, mainly in Thailand.
